A Quick and Easy Project with a Video Tutorial
To create my blingy collage card, I drew from holiday memories at a friend’s house. She had a huge picture made from a collage of broken cocktail jewelry. Its was a Christmas Tree on red velvet that lit up. I was captivated! I wanted to recreate it with my stash of beads, confetti, sequins, bits and baubles. I pulled everything that matched the color palette of this card out and decided on a background paper.
How can you craft a Christmas card using your craft stash collection? The sky is the limit. Dig into your button collection, your ribbon spools and those leftover beads and seasonal confetti. If you collect stamps or ephemera like old magazines you could easily use that instead.
The star of the show for any dimensional adaptation like this was not included with the subscription. Epoxy-like clear glue made this jewel encrusted effect possible. It flows around the pieces and dries into a clear epoxy to hold everything down permanently.
