Snowman Bead Collage Card

Paper Pumpkin: What is it?

Stampin’ Up has a monthly subscription box called Paper Pumpkin. It usually comes with enough supplies to make about six craft projects. It fits perfectly in my mailbox. The set that I used came from November 2021. In my video about this card I show what came in it. Six large 5×7 graphic elements (snowman, presents and tree), double sided tape, baker’s twine, mini paperclips, photopolymer stamps, Flirty Flamingo stampin’ dot, gift bags with snowflakes on them and treat boxes.

I love that they could be used for treats for friends, parties or presents for delivery people and more. But, I loved the larger than usual graphic elements most of all! I really wanted to use them to make cards. Many other Demonstrators also did this and it’s not uncommon to be overwhelmed, med with a feeling of wanting to “do it better” than the example! Do it your way!

Take It Up a Notch

To create my blingy collage card, I drew from holiday memories at a friend’s house. She had a huge picture made from a collage of broken cocktail jewelry. Its was a Christmas Tree on red velvet that lit up. I was captivated! I wanted to recreate it with my stash of beads, confetti, sequins, bits and baubles. I pulled everything that matched the color palette of this card out and decided on a background paper.

How can you craft a Christmas card using Paper Pumpkin subscription box and your craft stash collection? The sky is the limit. Dig into your button collection, your ribbon spools and those leftover beads and seasonal confetti. If you collect stamps or ephemera like old magazines you could easily use that instead.

The star of the show for any dimensional adaptation like this was not included with the subscription. Stampin’ Up’s Fine Tip Precision Glue made this jewel encrusted effect possible. It flows around the pieces and dries into a clear epoxy to hold everything down permanently.
